MACBETH
In this film noir adaptation of the Shakespeare play by the same name, the year is 1947. The young Thane of Glamis, Macbeth (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his best friend, Banquo (Gary Oldman), find themselves accosted by three little girls - The Witches. These girls predict great things for our two heroes, but can the devil speak true? On The Witches’ word Macbeth reaches further and further, ascending to the very zenith, taking throne and crown from his liege, Duncan (Sir Ian McKellen). And a young man, Macduff (Tom Hiddleston), emerges from the shadows to take back from Macbeth what was never rightly his.
